Jim Jubak has been writing about the capital markets for more than 25 years, including 12 years at MSN Money, where Nielsen NetRatings ranked him the #1 most read investor columnist on the Web. In March 2010, he was awarded a "Best in the Business Award" by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. In July 2010, Mr. Jubak launched the blog and Web site JubakPicks.com. There, he runs three stock portfolios, including the Jubak Picks portfolio, which has returned 282% since inception in May 1997 as of the end of 2009, and this compares to a total return on the S&P 500 stock index of 37% for the same period. Mr. Jubak’s third book,
The Jubak Picks: 50 Stocks That Will Rebuild Your Wealth and Safeguard Your Future, was published in 2008. He runs a portfolio on JubakPicks.com based on the book, and as of July 24, 2009, it had gained 38% since its December 30, 2008 launch. This compares to a 13% gain for the S&P 500 during the same time period. Mr. Jubak also runs a third portfolio, a dividend income portfolio, on JubakPicks.com. Prior to MSN Money, he worked as the senior financial editor at
Worth magazine and as the editor of
Venture magazine. Mr. Jubak has written two other books,

In the Image of the Brain: Breaking the Barrier Between the Human Mind and Intelligent Machines. He was a Knight Bagehot Business Journalism Fellow at Columbia University from 1983-1984 and earned a PhD in English literature from the University of Virginia.
